Humble Beginnings
Kennedy Anderson is a woman-owned American manufacturer based in Eugene, Oregon, on a mission to provide simple products that inspire and empower sustainable living. It all began in 2013, when our founder and president, Sarah Dooley, quit her career as an interior designer to take maternity leave and await the arrival of her first child, Marley. Before Marley was born, Sarah dusted off her sewing machine and began crafting her first monster using scraps of fabric she had collected. She hadn't made anything in years, but through hard work, dedication, and trial and error, Sarah relearned to sew and began making a variety of products for her and her family. Inspired by her experience with cloth diapers and a desire to create a better future for children, she eventually founded her company, Kennedy Anderson, centered around reusability and sustainability.
As Sarah's shop grew, she realized that her love for crafting, while caring for Marley, was a passion worth pursuing. In 2014, she quit her job to dedicate herself full-time to the Marley's Monsters project. It all started as a one-person operation in Sarah's home. Now, nearly a decade later, Sarah runs a company with over 70 employees, has been featured in major media outlets like Viewpoint, Forbes, and Refinery 29, and sells sustainable products internationally.
Over the past year, we've been fortunate to have built an amazing team to bring our production in-house. We wouldn't be where we are today without every one of our team members! We ensure our employees are treated well and respected, receive fair pay and benefits, and are recognized for their achievements.
